Why we built Candlune

Trading is one of the few skills where the most common way to learn — watching someone else do it — is almost completely useless.

You can watch a hundred hours of YouTube breakdowns. You can read the books, follow the analysts, and memorise the patterns. And then the moment you sit down in front of a live chart with real money at stake, something happens that none of it prepared you for: you freeze. Or you jump in too early. Or you move your stop-loss because you're scared. Or you revenge trade after a loss.

The knowledge was never the problem. The experience was.

What Candlune is

Candlune is a trading replay trainer. It takes real historical market data and serves it to you one candle at a time — exactly as the market originally unfolded — so you can practise making trading decisions without knowing what comes next.

Think of it like a flight simulator. A pilot doesn't learn to fly by watching videos of other pilots. They sit in a simulator, work through thousands of scenarios, make mistakes in a controlled environment, and internalise the responses that eventually become automatic. The simulation isn't real flying. But it produces real pilots.

Candlune does the same thing for traders.

You load a historical session. You watch the chart build. You pause, assess, and trade. Every decision you make is logged automatically. Over weeks and months, a picture emerges — your actual results, your actual patterns, your actual edge (or the gaps in it). That picture is something no course, no video, and no amount of passive learning can give you.

The philosophy

We believe in two things.

First: you cannot learn to trade by watching. You can learn about trading by watching. The skill itself requires doing — thousands of times, under conditions that feel real, with stakes attached even if those stakes are only your attention and your honesty about the results.

Second: feedback has to be fast and honest. The reason most traders repeat the same mistakes for years is that their feedback loop is too slow and too noisy. They make a decision, something happens, they don't know if the outcome was luck or skill, and the lesson doesn't land. Candlune compresses and clarifies that loop. You make decisions, you see results, you check your journal, and the truth of your performance is right there in front of you.

Who this is for

Candlune is for traders who are tired of learning without improving.

Where we are today

Candlune currently supports Gold (XAUUSD) across six timeframes, with historical data going back to January 2020. More markets are coming. The journal and analytics are live. The interface is deliberately minimal — because the chart is the point, and everything else is noise.
